Does the country realize how much Eric adds to McCain's campaign? I have been forwarding this site -- www.EricCantorForVP.com -- to all my lists and groups. Way to go!

You guys are doing a great job. I'm seeing Eric's name more and more. His talents are getting noticed. He would help McCain big time.

McCain needs several things in a VP -- young and energetic yet still experienced enough to lead if the need arises; experience in economic matters ($0 in earmarks in the last two years!); and appeals to the base without turning off moderates. Eric Cantor fits all those. I'm from his district and I think he'd be the ideal choice.

Has Cantor had any executive experience? Has he crafted any major legislation and seen it through to enactment? Those points will be raised against Obama, and if Cantor is subject to the same criticism, putting him on the McCain ticket would be a mistake.

Also, we need effective conservatives in Congress. Reagan's presidency benefited greatly from Newt Gingrich's leadership in Congress.

McCain should choose someone who can be an effective president overnight, if something happens to McCain. Someone like Frank Keating or maybe Gen. Petraeus.

Dear Mr. Cantor,
I appreciate the chance to drop a note of encouragement to you. I believe that men as yourself can be strong still in conservative ideas and also with God's help, to begin again to bring back some of the great and time honored ways that began this country. I would also like to send along a brief note asking that if there may be the need of good staff help and also someone to assist at the grassroot level please let me know.
I assisted with the beginning of the Making a Difference Foundation, as it began assisting the needs of at risk youth. I feel that this is the time for more conservative people. Thank God for men as yourself, I bekieve in the many God honored conservative traditions.
It wiould be a answer of many prayers for Mr. McCain to have a conservative running-mate.

Sincerely,

Matt Mclean

Fun site. But seriously. Eric would be perfect. Exactly what the republican needs right now. Run Eric Run!!!

What is his immigration policy? Does he advocate enforcement of our immigration laws. Does he advocate amnesty for those who have broken the law and are in this country illegally?

What about legal immigration which is now at unprecedented levels? Should this be reformed? Should not we restrict immigration from countries whose cultures are wildly opposite of our own?

Does anyone have the answers to these questions?

With all due respect to Congressman Cantor's bonafide credentials for VP, the problem is that John McCain is not qualified to be President of the United States. McCain is too old, is showing signs of senility already, dangerous indeed given McCain's intellectual shortcomings. McCain wants to be President so badly that he is willing to shade the truth about his mental and physical health. The GOP should pick a stronger, more intelligent and qualified leader at the convention. McCain is a SURE LOSER in November, regardless of who is on the bottom of the ticket.

Representative Cantor is obviously the best choice for McCain's VP.
I was already on his bandwagon back in April.
Yet the national media don't even put him on their long lists. Even the conservative talk show hosts ignore him. On numerous occasions I have gotten through to Sean Hannity, Marc Levin, and others only to have obnoxious screeners decide that the idea is not worthy of air time. I haven't heard Rush mention Cantor, but I have to admit I have never gotten past a busy signal there. I have also e-mailed various conservative "opinion makers" to no avail.
The pollsters don't even have him as a choice in their surveys. Even Rasmussen's "trading" ignores him.
I don't get it. What's going on? Can't we get ANYONE to publicize him. What about Karl Rove?
As to Mr. London's snide comments here, the author is probably a daily kos or move-on.org mole. May they all choke on their vile anti-American bile as they watch John McCain being sworn in as President.

Congressman Cantor is a member of the House Immigration Reform Caucus. He stood up to President Bush on the McCain-Kennedy bill.
http://www.ontheissues.org/VA/Eric_Cantor_Immigration.htm

In the past, he received a 100% rating from FAIR.
He currently has a B- from Americans for Better Immigration

Ain't he a Jew?

Voted against Head Start, voted to allow employers to reclassify employees to reduce overtime. We Democrats are doing our vetting, too.

And to Mike Razar- Karl Rove isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

Maybe, one of these days, you will see that what is good for ALL Americans is good for America.

I'm really excited about Eric Cantor. I knew him briefly as a child and always wondered what became of him. What a wonderful surprise. I'd be tickled pink for him to be the V.P. choice. I heard him on Bill Bennett's radio program and was very impressed by what he had to say.

I read in one of the articles here that Cantor is considered a strong ally of tobacco companies and financial services companies. Everyone has their downside, but I'd like to know exactly what he has supported in these areas. The financial services companies have proven themselves to be so corrupt and greedy to the detriment of the country. A conservative has to show me that he is not an idealogue and will do what it takes to curb corporate power that gets out of control. Lowering taxes is not a be all and end all solution to our economic problems.

"You Democrats" apparently have poor reading comprehension. I did NOT suggest that we get Karl Rove to lead the Eric Cantor movement; only to get his name publicized through his connections in the media. Anyway that point is moot. In the last 48 hours Representative Cantor's name has sprung onto the national scene like a fresh flower in Spring. McCain/Cantor will bury Obama and whatever mope he picks in November.
But for the record, I do not abandon people I admire and respect because they are currently unpopular. George W. Bush and Karl Rove have more patriotism and understanding of what is good for America in their little fingers than the entire pathetic Democratic Party----which should be re-named the party of fear and despair. You Dems are great at slandering great men and women but haven't had an original idea in 40 years.

Eric Cantor supports the tax legislation that allows Hedge Fund managers with hundreds of billions of dollars of yearly income to continue to pay income tax at a 15% rate (i.e., Carry Interest), rather than the normal 35% tax rate. If McCain really wants to lose the election, he should select Cantor as his VP, and the Dems will then clobber McCain, and for good reason.

I am not sure about MCCain real view on enforcement of the immigration laws. Where does Eric Cantor standon the issue. I am a resident of Prince William County and beleive we are on the fore front of the enforcement and need suport before our county suffers anymore. I want the American way of life to survive. I reconize and respect other cultures however I do not want them in my front yard. If you want to live in American, you need to respect the American way of life
Look forward to hearing more about you in the coming weeks. Oh ,on a lighter note, do you support NARCAR in our State.I also hope Obama chooses Kane for his VP, he chooses we lose, feels so good to lose. Thank you

That question by Jack on August 3 "Isn't he a jew?" is excellent. Voters who are afraid of Obama will vote for McCain, regardless of his running mate. Voters who are afraid of Jews will vote for Obama. A bit perplexing, wouldn't you say?

Rep. Eric Cantor shold switch his support to Governor Mike Huckabee for Governor Huckabee as PRESIDENT in 2008. Huckabee will reverse the Bush-McCain policy of appeasing Nazi Iran and fascist Venezuela. See the editorial in Petroleumworld.com, "Huckabee Muust block Iran in Venezuela."

Iran plans to take Iraq, in partnership with the Kurds, and from control of Iraq, dominate the Middle East. Iran has tacit US support in Iraq. This is why Iran supports the ongpoing US military operations in Diyala province, which borders on Iran. In fact, Iran is the leading US partner in Iraq, and willmtake control of Iraq as the US wsithdraws.

And how is Iran paying back the US for handing over Iraq to Iran? Iran is betraying the US by preparing an attack on the uS presence in Latin America, with support from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Russia.

McCain will perpetuate Bush's appeasemnt of Iran and Venezuela. Huckabee will stop the appeasement of Iran and Venezuela.

I met Mr. Cantor on a long (twelve hours )flight. in 2006. I follow his career since. Until now i wasn't sure if I will stick to my political party or just not vote at all. If Sen. McCain will pick Mr. Cantor as a VP it will make my choice very simple. Eric, yoyu are the right man in the right place. I will vote for you regardless of political association. Good Luck.

Eric MUST ADDRESS the convention!

I would love to hear Eric Cantor speak at the Republician National Convention. I would also like to thank Eric Cantor for being a republican! My parents have always supported Isreal, Jeruusalem and the Jewish people and i am a conservative! Know others in my family feel the same way! I was raised by christian parents!
Both of my parents are deceased my father a long time and my mother a while also.
Thanks, Ruth Bivin

FYI...I e-mailed Rasmussen a month ago, asking why Cantor is never mentioned in their polls or 'markets". No response. But I called them today and a friendly human (how refreshing) answered the phone and promised to look into it.

The buzz on the lefty blogs is mostly dismissive of Cantor, but I detect a bit of bravado on their part. I think Eric scares the living daylights out of them.

I too am very excited about Eric for VP. Romney, Huck, Ridge are all boring white guys (as rove calls them) - Eirc is differant, exciting, brilliant - I think hes more charismatic then Obama - will be a perfect attack dog. Sarah Palin will be decent too - but Alaska is in the bag. You guys are doing a great job
